The Set of the Sails

Posted by Barbara (Florida, United States) on 9 June 2009 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

THANK YOU to all of YOU who made it possible by your visits and comments for this image to be in the AM3 Spotlight as of 6-10-09.
A special thanks to Eleftheria for bringing it to my attention.
I hope that someday I can return the gesture to Eleftheria to let her know one of her remarkable images has been featured.

The Set of the Sails
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

One ship drives east, and another west
With the self-same winds that blow;
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
That decides the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As they voyage along through life;
'Tis the will of the soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
