Going GreenPosted by Barbara (Florida, United States) on 15 October 2010 in Cityscape & Urban. Pier 60, Clearwater Beach, Florida. The pier is the shape of a T, the angle you see is the top left of the T. In the distance is Sand Key which is a beach adjacent to Clearwater Beach. This previous image gives a view of the top right T of the pier. The Gulf of Mexico is blue waters, the illumination from the spotlight off of the pier makes it appear green in the night. Being a vertical image, best viewed as small.

@Cruz: It is a bit eerie now that you mentioned it. Perhaps there is some algae growth that illuminates from the strong light. But I do know during the day the water near the pier looks blue. Thank you, Cruz for your visit and comment. @dang: As you and Cruz pointed out, it does have an eerie feel. I am assuming the light may have picked up algae color in the water. I can't explain why it took on this color. During the day the water does appear blue. I try to stay with landscape format in my images but this one I had to rotate the camera to get the scene in. The small or large viewing option is not much help. Located at very bottom of the viewing page on right side. As I see you have found already. Thanks for your visit, Tom. @Scene by Sharon Photography: Thank you, Sharon. @Judy aka L@dybug: I'm pleased you like it. Thanks, Judy. @Verónica: I can see where you might think that. There is a structure with a roof on the deck of the pier. Thanks, glad you like it. @Marilla: I appreciate your visit and comment, thanks. |
