Anishinaabe or more properly Anishinaabeg or Anishinabek (which is the plural form of the word) is a self-description often used by the Odawa, Ojibwe, and Algonkin peoples, who all speak closely-related Anishinaabemowin/Anishinaabe languages. (Wikipedia)

On my father's side going back to a great-great grandmother named Kinacona who was on the tribal rolls, I can proudly say I am a registered member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
