Stone Crab

A new face and addition to the street performers on Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach.
He had a bag of sea life, including this stone crab that he caught under the pier moments before.
He had some exaggerated stories to tell and spoke to me as if I was a tourist. Part of his story led the small group around him to believe he has been doing this on the pier for some time. He didn't fool me, it is the first time I've seen him.
With protection of many species of sea life along the beaches I have my doubts that he has authorization to be doing this.
If that is true he will not be there for long.
We often have sea turtles nesting in areas along the beach. Recently they relocated nesting area for a specific species of bird.
With the amount of people who visit our beaches nature and wildlife do need protection.
