Angel Wings

As many of you know I haven't posted in awhile.
On May 31st I lost my Dear Friend Katie to cancer.
It was important that I be there for her.
Katie was always a kind, caring and giving person.
She had a special love and connection with the many animals she cared for. Every one of them would be excited to see her when she arrived to care for them.
Katie always did more than just give food and water, she spent time with them playing or teaching them commands. Giving them companionship.
While we became best friends, I learned this past week that Katie had a lengthy list of people near and far who loved her for who she was.
All came to see Katie during her last days, thankfully she was coherent to know we were all there for her, showing her how much we loved her.
Being with Katie until the last day I saw her strength, courage and acceptance as she made the transition to a peaceful place.
I heard the flutter of her Angel Wings.
Our friendship will be forever cherished and never forgotten.
All who knew Katie were blessed.

I may be sporadic in posting or responding. Returning to daily posting and keeping up with comments may be somewhat challenging right now.
