drawn into the light with the strong sweeping quill of the feather. well composed. It must have been hard to get the exposure right, I sense a touch of graininess in the show. The drop shadow in the presentation is very cool.

@Bill: Thank you, Bill. Over all this was a play with light, texture and extension tubes. It was a bit challenging to get the right exposure. A conversion to B&W and some other processing brought out the graininess. Certainly something that can be adjusted. I actually favor this image because the feather has much symbolic value for me. I appreciate your comment.

I like the slight grain that is part of the overall "look" of this photo. The shadows and light contrasts as well as the delicate feather against the unknown harder background really makes for an eye-catching image.

@Viewfinder: Thank you, Glenn. In certain images I find a grainy effect sometimes adds to an image. I'm glad you liked this. The feather is actually on a black salad plate for background, it picked up the light from a nearby window. I am very fond of feathers.

I meant to comment on this yesterday but didn't have time. This is such a beautiful shot, Barbara. Absolutely poetic. I once read that every time you see a feather know that the angels are there protecting you... this one captures that essence perfectly!
