Fast Food

Osprey with a fresh fish, partially eaten.
Also called Fish Hawk, because fish is their main diet.
While spotting a fish from the air the Osprey will plunge into the water feet first to capture it's prey. While these beautiful birds are seen worldwide, they are plentiful here in Florida, although they were threatened in the 1950's and 1960's due to toxic insecticides and pesticides.

This particular bird lives near to my home. Over the years I have visited the nesting area where many generations have hatched.
I cannot count the number of images I have taken of them.
This was taken Thursday of this past week.
