Oh my...I don't know if I would try this. I like Calamari but only when it is the rings. When they serve it without cutting it into rings I can't eat it so I'm not sure I would like Octopus this way. I know it would probably be mind over matter though. Beautiful food shot.
I love to eat calamari. I love octopi (alive). Somehow I struggle with the ethics of cooking an octopus, but not with cooking squid. Squid are schoolers, but the octopus is a loner. I think octs are intelligent and cognizant. Even so, I am sure, looking at this photo, they are also delicious (esp. when prepared the Greek way). So since I have no problem with "delicious," I may have to re-think my ethics and give this dish a good old try some day. Like when we come to visit Tarpon Springs to see the church and other sites.

@Viewfinder: Very good point you make about the difference between squid and Octopus. If you ever have the squid (Greek style) make sure they are "pan" fried. Some deep fry them. Octopus grilled and squeeze of lemon with Greek oregano are the best.
I smiled at the rest of your comment in turning towards "delicious".
Whenever you do make it to Tarpon Springs there is one other thing that is a must have, a Greek pastry. No meal is complete without it. I favor the Almond cake. Light and "delicious"
Thank you for the wonderful comment.
