Standing on the beach of Michigan's northern peninsula in a town called St. Ignace this is a view of Lake Michigan and Mackinac bridge (pronounced Mackinaw) which connects the lower and upper peninsula of the State of Michigan. I took this last July during a solo trip back to my roots and heritage, stopping along the way to visit some family that still lives there. The trip gave me wonderful memories. July is a magnificent time of year to go there. It would be wonderful to be there now. Sorry about the quality I had to dig this one out of the archives. For more information on this area and Mackinac Bridge you can visit here: http://www.mackinacbridge.org/about-the-bridge-8/
Ocean coast eye candy, I love it Barb :)

Ahhh, I remember this one - a beautiful shot!
I can never keep straight which is Mackinac and which is Mackinaw - so know I know the bridge is the latter. Is the island, then pronounced Mackinac?

@Judy: Thanks Judy. Oh how I would love to be there right now. Both the bridge and island are pronounced the same with the "naw" at the end.
A wonderful view across the water to the bridge. that sky is amazing too. Beautiful shot Barbara.
