It was close to sunset and I like the way the light was setting on the hood ornament. Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsGreat capture full of nostalgia and animal-like beauty! I remember how weird I found the pronunciation of the word "Plymouth", as a kid (when I saw these cars, they were a big status-symbol) I said "Plee- mouth", the second syllabe pronounced as "mouth". Later on they told me the right pronunciation, but maybe mine was more logical. 30 May 2008 4:00pm @Illuci: Thank you Illuci. I smiled at your comment about the word Plymouth. It is a very strange word when you look at it and I was thinking about it when posting the image. Enjoyed your story and comment. dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaSuper shot - ahh! - when cars were cars! It's in superb condition by the looks of it, and to follow on from Lorraine's comment - the grille looks like smiling teeth. I like the framing you've done as well. 30 May 2008 4:15pm @dobbino: You are right, cars were cars then. Try and put a thumb print in that steel! Cars today you can press the metal with your finger. I always look at grills and tail lights they do have features about them. standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceGreat capture full of nostalgia Barb. I love it! 30 May 2008 9:34pm @standley: Glad you like it, thank you for commenting. @saeed: Thank you so much Saeed. I appreciate your comment. Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesOh wow - thats a cool hood Ornament - how clever. 2 Jun 2008 3:10pm Judy Andrus Toporcer from Colton, United StatesA shot "right after my own heart" ; ) Nice work, Barbara. They don't make 'em like they used to, and with so few old beauties around, we photogs are lucky when we have the chance to shoot one. This is charming. 3 Jun 2008 11:34am roamin from Nova Scotia, Canadalovely detail, perfect composition. 7 Jun 2008 6:15pm |
