I thought to title this "Garbage Picker" either way this crow was looking for his next meal. At first I noticed several pieces of trash strewn all over around the trash can thinking someone dumped it there rather than in the can but I witnessed this crow pulling out bags of food and other items that appeared too heavy for him. He seemed well experienced. The trash can is only feet from the waters edge in downtown Clearwater (Florida), he actually tossed a bag around that landed into the water. At least the "humans" put it where it belongs in the first place he is only looking for a meal.
Gosh I am in awe....spectacular Barbara, you're such a talented photographer!!!

@Lorraine: You have given me such a wonderful comment, thank you Lorraine.
This is funny - both your photo and story, because Mike just knocked on the window to scare a crow away from our bird bath. He flew in with the bottom half of a hamburger roll, wanting to put it into the (nice clean rainwater) to soften it, I suppose. ... Half way through typing that last sentence, I knocked on the window again because he came back. THIS time, he had about eight mocking birds bombarding him as he flew away. Now he just came back for a drink of water - maybe the mockers caused him to drop his roll! ;D

@Judy: Funny timing. And this evening I saw a woman on TV sitting at her table with a photo of crows on the wall behind her. Your crow had himself a real treat, wonder if he already ate the meat. He must have been up to no good with the mockingbirds. There seems to be an abundant amount of both kinds of birds in the state. Thank you, Judy for your comment.
Too much personality in this one crow, as he looks very annoyed at his meal being interrupted by paparazzi. Great capture Barbara. And the story that goes with it is really funny.

@Viewfinder: I smiled at your comment. He kept an eye on me but he wasn't leaving the goodies in the trash can. Thanks VF for the nice comment.
Great capture Barb. I like the story going with it!

I love these birds, they are so "entrepreneuring", you captured this trait so well here!
