Belleview Biltmore Resort Hotel. This was the original lobby when the Hotel opened in 1897. The tracks of the railroad led the train full of passengers to this entrance. I can almost hear the train whistle blow and see the women in their long dresses, fine hats and men in their vested suits unboard and gathering in the lobby to check in. On the day that I captured this image there were 2 tables of elderly women playing cards. Later I learned they meet there every week for a few hands. A girls day out you might say.
Now that Is Chic, and not the shabby one ;) I love the visual too of the old train station, I could see...you're very descriptive and talented and I enjoy the ladies playing cards lol

@Lorraine: Thank you Lorraine. They didn't have the internet, digital cameras, or great coffee shops back then but it was such a wonderful era. I guess tea time would have been the thing to do. I thought it was great to see these women meeting like that to have their card game.
Beautiful capture of a nice stylish place. I enjoy your series Barb.
