This is the big female alligator in the park down the street from me. She has a bad eye most likely from the several fights she has been in. I guess her length to be approx. 10 or 11 feet long, at least. I lost count of the amount of photos I have of her. The day I took this photo the park ranger said she disappeared for about 3 months, with no idea where she went. With mating season soon she is back in her territory. Only a few yards away are screened patio's of a 3 story apartment building. One additional note, the back teeth that you see are not short but the tips are embedded in the lower lip.
