Red Flag

Posted by Barbara (Florida, United States) on 18 December 2007 in Miscellaneous.

As a result of Tropical Storm Oga and a cold front moving in, the winds were extreme this day. For me it was refreshing and the beach was an interesting place to be for a few photos.
There were some that did not pay much attention to the Red Flag Warning and went into the water anyhow.

A Red Flag means: No swimming allowed - Dangerous conditions. Usually this flag is up when there are extremely dangerous rip currents. Even the best of swimmers can be pulled out to sea if caught in a strong rip current, and unfortunately every year people die from them.
