His name is Buddy. Full of charm and character. He has been a visitor since November 5, 2007 the day he was rescued from a tree. Obviously someone's pet, I knew he was being missed. After searching and exhausting all options to locate the owner a call arrived yesterday, on Thanksgiving Day. A woman said neighbors lost their African Grey parrot a few weeks ago. I was hopeful. Within minutes the owners called. They provided the proof I needed, words he used and most importantly the numbers on his leg band put on by the breeder back in 1994. The reunion of this incredible bird and his family was an emotional moment. Definitely a day to be thankful. Buddy had an amazing vocabulary that would have you in tears laughing. He was also very revealing about the owners habits and conversations. Birds like this tell it all! It's been fun Buddy, glad you are back home. You will be missed.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, Barb; I know how happy you are that you finally located Buddy's owners - and on Thanksgiving Day too! I'm sure Buddy and his 'family' are so grateful that YOU, were the one to rescue him. How are you dealing with the 'silence' in the house now? <grin> ........ GREAT entry for today, my friend!

Funny thing, I was watching the news on TV after viewing your photo blog and they reported that an African Grey Parrot was stolen from a pet store in New York City. The owner was away for Thanksgiving and left the bird at the pet store. When she returned the parrot was gone. The woman was heart broken. There is a $10,000 reward.

@Bob: Thanks for the nice comment. African Grey's are amazing birds. I can understand just how heart broken the woman was. I do hope she has located the bird by now.
Amazing shot. The feathers are great.
